The book is 8 1/2 X 11 inches, perfect bound with flaps, 144 pages, 50 color photos, 334 black & white photos and two maps.  It is organized into 16 chapters covering all the mainlines and branches of the railroad in existence in the 1950s.... There are photos of the dock facilities at Searsport, 102 different stations, 20 freight houses, 15 track crew buildings, 14 water tanks, six turntables, 10 engine houses, seven coaling facilities, 14 bridges, two interlocking towers and eight potato houses. There are multiple photos of many of the stations showing different sides.
